Oakland Firefighters Random Acts is about Community Interaction –
Local, National, and International.
Locally, our program would not be possible without the support and partnerships we have developed over the years with local businesses, corporations, schools, hospitals, service organizations, government entities, other non-profits, and people in the Oakland Community. It’s all about personal interaction and working together to serve the same community that we all know and love.
Nationally, what started out as a local program with Oakland Firefighters serving the Oakland Community has branched out to other fire departments starting Random Acts programs to serve their local communities in Hillsboro OR, Albuquerque NM and other cities. Every time another Random Acts program is created, another whole community is served. Random Acts programs, that we know of, were also started in Bedford OH, Bullhead City AZ, Thomasville NC, Melbourne Beach FL, and Berkeley CA.
Internationally, Oakland Firefighters Random Acts partnered with Hope Clinic International to send local Firefighters on missions to Nicaragua to work in a health clinic and to help train Nicaraguan Firefighters. The missions created much good will between the Nicaraguan and Oakland area Firefighters.
