Critical Incident Stress Management

Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp

Thank you to Javan (I don't have his last name), George Wells and Mike Hall from Oakand Fire Dept. for volunteering at camp this summer. Luckily, they were not needed for their emergency response experience, but their transferring experience was very useful when it came to camper shower time. In fact, we are hoping to recruit a few firefighters to teach the counselors proper transferring techniques next summer! I'm not sure if Javan learned to be a black jack dealer at the fire house, but he was a great dealer at casino night! Javan and Mike said they would come back for the whole week next summer to be counselors. We'll send out the dates for next summer as soon as they are confirmed so you can all work on doing a few shift trades to be at camp for the week.

MDA
The water bottles that Random Acts donated to the campers and counselors at MDA camp helped keep everyone hydrated all week long! Random Acts also donated medical supplies and super soaker water guns for the camp store. Campers earn"Jerry Bucks" all week long at camp so they can buy games and toys in the camp "Jerry Store". The super soakers were the first item to be sold out in the store. Everyone wanted to be well armed for water wars!
